Seeing my Great-Grandmother's handwriting is an absolute trip. I never knew her but I know what her handwriting looks like. My own handwriting pales in comparison. I can barely decipher it most of the time.
Her side-note reads,
On this day in WWII history
Her side-note reads,
"Bud and Betty met Apr. 26th. They were married Sept. 26th. Every month Bud gives her a present on the 26th and calls the day monthaversary of their first meeting. He usually takes her out to dinner."
The Boy and I celebrated our monthaversaries every month of our first year together. We now share this part of our relationship history with my grandparents. A person who celebrates monthaversaries is one you keep around forever. I am beyond thrilled that my Boyfriend and my Grandfather share the desire to celebrate the good things in their lives.
"For our monthaversary (sp) Bud gave me a large bottle of Chanel No. 5. It is really a wonderful perfume and you have to know an inside tract."
They continue to live in wedded bliss and their apartment finally feels like home.
"But and I are thrilled to death with our apartment. We have it pretty well settled now. We are going to get some pictures so the walls won't look so bare. I have been cooking and getting along fine. Our stove has a broiler and it is a lot easier to broil meat than to fry it. It isn't fattening when you broil it either. Friday night Andy and Bev were over to steak dinner and then we went to the football game. We had a good time. Andy was in town for a few days. His boat comes in about every two weeks or so."
Grandma's trying to match everyone up. She wants everyone to be as happy as she is. Their lives are truly enchanted now. They're glowing in the Miami sun.

That's a great picture! Don't you wonder how they decorated the apartment walls, what they had to eat with their steak, etc.! And I'd love to know some of the presents that Bud gave Betty each month. They seem so happy!
